What comes to your mind when you think of vacation? Beach? Ocean? Sun?
The best of Southern California culture is the real life of surfing.
What could be better than waves, sand, and sun in a surf town?
With 16 kilometers of uninterrupted shoreline, all visitors can feel right at home on the sand in Huntington Beach.
There's a calm and relaxing atmosphere full of simple pleasures and fun. Think sandcastles, beach fires, pier walks and top-notch surfing, and you'll immediately want to visit this beautiful place.
We drove to this beach from Pasadena. The drive took about an hour and a half. My wife loved the look of the waves, and of course she was most impressed with the surfers.
These guys know what they want out of life. Watching how they masterfully glide over the waves of the ocean can be endless, or until their first fall, lol.
When we visited this beach, a few years ago, there were a lot of people.
The beach itself is very wide, which is convenient. There's enough room to walk and sunbathe without disturbing others.
the only creatures that weren't shy to bother people were seagulls.
The water was cooler than we wish and the waves were very powerful.
I personally enjoyed swimming, and my wife stood in shallow water, but she was afraid to swim.
After sunbathing on the beach for a while, we noticed how people began to crowd in one part of the beach. We also went to check out what was going on. It turned out that the surfers were organizing a competition.
We could hardly see from the shore, as there were already a lot of spectators, and we decided to go to the pier.
The pier was close by, and it was a great spot to watch the show. It was much easier to see the surfers from above. The way the surfers handled the surfboards was very beautiful.
We saw quiet a few helicopters flying around.
All in all, Huntington Beach was a great place.
