This is the story of my trip to Bali. On October 10, 2024, I went to Bali to attend the annual scientific meeting. This year, the event was held in Bali. For me, this was a very lucky trip because I could learn a lot about the life and culture of the Balinese people. I had visited there before in 2014, but I was only in Bali for a few hours. I was very interested in the natural scenery there because the Balinese people really protect nature from environmental damage. The life of the Balinese people is very peaceful and has a high tolerance. While I was there, I didn't feel like a stranger because the Balinese were very friendly with the guests who came.
Bali
Bali is a province of Indonesia and the westernmost of the Lesser Sunda Islands. East of Java and west of Lombok, the province includes the island of Bali and a few smaller offshore islands, notably Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan to the southeast. The provincial capital, Denpasar,[10] is the most populous city in the Lesser Sunda Islands and the second-largest, after Makassar, in Eastern Indonesia. Denpasar metropolitan area is the extended metropolitan area around Denpasar. The upland town of Ubud in Greater Denpasar is considered Bali's cultural center. The province is Indonesia's main tourist destination, with a significant rise in tourism since the 1980s, and becoming an Indonesian area of overtourism.[11] Tourism-related business makes up 80% of the Bali economy.[12] wikipedia.org.
The beauty of Bali is so amazing that it is known throughout the country. In 2002, a sad incident happened in this city. On October 12, 2002, an explosion occurred in this city, as a result of which about 209 people were injured or wounded as a result of a bomb explosion. Many foreign tourists who were vacationing there were not so lucky. The Balinese people highly value the customs and culture that are the legacy of their ancestors. In the meantime, do not be surprised if you can see their traditional cultural events everywhere. The natural panorama of Bali can also bring a peaceful atmosphere to everyone who comes there.
Travel from Kualanamu Medan Airport to Bali.
I departed from Kualanamu International Airport in Medan to Bali, but I had to transit at Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport. At 09.40, the plane departed from Kualanamu Airport in Medan to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta and arrived at 12.00. During the flight, I was a little worried because the weather was not very good. When the plane was at altitude, I felt several times that the plane was experiencing air turbulence, so the passengers on the plane felt panic.
Arriving from Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport to Bali takes a long time. During the flight, I tried to calm down by taking pictures of the clouds from inside the plane. It looks very beautiful when the plane flies between white clouds. I felt like I was covered with a thick layer of snow. Sometimes the plane flies very low so that I can enjoy the vastness of the land and sea. I do not forget to take pictures from the plane window because this moment is the most important moment in the plane.
The view of the city from the plane is very clear, it is densely populated. But unfortunately, I do not know which city it is. The plane continued to accelerate until it was above the ground, sometimes the pilots told the crew that the weather was bad. So all the passengers have to put up with a little shaking of the fuselage due to air turbulence. It is not too dangerous, but all the passengers probably feel panic. That is why you need to choose the right time if you want to travel by plane.
At 18:40 the plane landed at Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airportin Bali. From the plane window, I saw the sun setting outside. The view was beautiful but I didn’t manage to take many photos from inside the plane. The moment was simply gone although it was very beautiful with a panoramic view of the sunset. After the plane landed I went straight to the airport lobby because I was picked up for dinner. After finishing dinner I went to the available accommodation and when I got there I had to rest because the next day I had to attend the annual scientific meeting.
Melati Bali Cafe
After spending one night here, my body felt fresh again and in the afternoon after attending a scientific conference, I went straight to the beach tourist resort. This beach is located in Kedonganan, Kabupaten Badung, Bali. My friends and I hung out at Melati Bali Cafe. This cafe is designed with a more comfortable concept to make every visitor feel at home for a long time. We can see the exotic views of the beach, especially in the afternoon. All the visitors of the cafe will be able to enjoy the beauty of the beach when the sun sets on the bottom of the ocean.
Below is a list of food and beverage menus provided by Kafe Melati Bali. several types of food and beverages at reasonable prices. When you sit down you will be approached by a cafe waiter and handed a list of food and beverage menus you can choose whatever you want.
The beach atmosphere attracts more and more visitors. Some visitors are playing with the sand, while others are swimming in the sea. My friends and I just sat and enjoyed the hot tea we ordered. We are very pleased with the exotic views of the beach. Not only local visitors come here, but foreign tourists are also very easy to find. They come to Bali from different countries. This beach is very clean from garbage, and we rarely see people smoking.
Waiting for Sunset
The sea of Bali is famous for its beauty and big waves. Usually, foreign tourists surf during the day. Unfortunately, I could not see the surfing attraction. Even though the sky will be dark, more and more visitors will come. I think they will watch the sunset here. From this beach, you can also see the runway of the plane. From afar, you can see the plane in the sea, which is about to land at the airport. You can also see some small ships cruising on the sea.
