Stepping back in time along Viscri

in Worldmappin4 days ago

Viscri is one of the most famous villages in the heart of Romania, was made famous in Europe after Prince Charles bought a property in the village. The charming farming village with the Unesco World Heritage site label in Transylvania is a tourist attraction. Here almost everything takes you about 200 years back. Anyone who visits Viscri will feel a peaceful and emotional feeling, thanks to the ancient picturesque beauty of the village.

Once just you arrive the village from afar you can already see one of the best preserved Saxon fortresses, located in a breathtaking area. The fortress dates back to the 12th century, chapel in the early 13th century.with Gothic influences, two towers, two bastions and a gate tower. The church itself is a classic example of Romanesque architecture, with a fortified structure and thick walls.

Hey @almi you are welcome.
Thanks for using @worldmappin 😘

Love the vegetation of the surrounding area, there will always be somewhere to rest and enjoy the breeze during a hot summer.
Glad to see the collection of items used by those who lived during that time well preserved into modern times :)

Many thanks!
