Pompeii the large Roman ancient city

As I wrote in my first part, Pompeii was an ancient city in the Gulf of Naples which, like Herculaneum, Stabiae and Oplontis, was devastated by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, remaining largely preserved under the volcanic ash. And let's go inside at a sacred site on the corner of Via Marina and the Forum is located the temple of Apollo dedicated to the god Apollo. This cult was one of Greek origin was the gotd of music, prophecy, healing, andt the sun. The statue portrays Apollo in his typical athletic form and is one of the many fascinating impressionsin to Roman daily life.

The mosaic with many small coloredstones in a wonderful designs art in Pompeii are very well preserved, you can finde throughout the ancient city in homes, buildings or bathouses. Here they show pigeons drinking watwer.

The thermae in Pompeii was an integral part of Roman life, serving not only for hygiene but also a social place and rest, most decoratet with stunning frescoes or sclupture.

The street were paved with large, irregular basalt stone, which were durable and resistant to use. The city offers an amazing mix of several thousand buildings.

Here along the via Consolare. Many streets have large stepping stones placed across the street. They alowed carts to pass throghwhile people stepped across dry footed. Intelligent ideas were already in the old days.

The House of the Faun is named after the bronze statuette of a dancing satyr in the impluvium area, the statue depicts a dancing satyr that was mistaken for a faun. It is one of the richest and most famous houses in the whole of Pompeii and covers around 3,000 square meters. The bath and toilet area dates back to the 1st century BC.

Pompeiis citizens often cultivated palm trees creating a lush exotic ambiance. many luxirious villas likely featured palms as a part of their ornamental gardens. Frequently depicted in frescoes and mosaics.

According to Roman custom, the city itself was surrounded by a wall with many gates, often with two or three arched entry points to separate both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Pompeii have two main street, these arelined withpublic buildings, shops, houses,, temples and entertainment places.
