Travel Day// Yerküpe Cave and Recreation Area //in Turkey

There are many places to visit and see in the region I live in. Yerküpe Cave, which is a wonderful place hidden in the forest, where you can feel the fresh air in nature, is located in Kavaklıdere district of Muğla province in Turkey.

The formation of the cave was formed by the erosion of the limestones by the water passing through it over time. The height of this cave, which is approximately 100 meters in length, rises to 14 meters in places. This cave, which acts as a natural bridge, and the natural spring waters around it are really cold and beautiful.

When I visited this place, I could not get a view from inside the cave as the entrance was closed. I tried to get information about the cave from the business owners I talked to.

I couldn't get a view from inside the cave, but I will tell you about a wonderful resting area on the cave. You will love this place too. :)





This cave, which is about 1 hour away from the city center, comes to the Yerküpe promenade after a journey through nature. It has been designed in such a way that it can meet the accommodation and needs of the guests with its landscaping and large parking areas.





It hosts tourism and nature sports organized by Muğla municipality. Oil wrestling, which has been going on for years and is a tradition in Muğla, is held here.

When you enter the Yerküpe Cave recreation area, the roads in the recreation area are paved with natural stones, and you pass to the place where you can relax and spend time with your family, under the shade of huge plane trees on your right and left.





In the very center of the recreation area, there is natural spring water. A fountain was built for this spring water. People meet their water needs from here, and it also adds a very nice atmosphere to the recreation area.

You can sit and eat in the shade of the huge plane trees that surround the whole recreation area with their splendor, and have nice conversations with your friends or family with the peace of nature.

The plane trees in the recreation area are approximately 150 years old. Thanks to the plane trees, you enjoy a quiet and cool environment.

You can spend the night in this beautiful place by enjoying a barbecue in the special sections reserved for you and setting up a tent wherever you want.

In addition, there is an area where oil wrestling, which is a local sport, which I mentioned at the beginning of my article, is made. Festivals are held here from time to time.
