Peunayong, a Chinese village located in Banda Aceh, has long been known as a center of diversity in Aceh. One of the prominent figures born in Peunayong is the famous human rights lawyer Yap Thiam Hien. This dish is very popular among locals and tourists and can be found in eateries along Kartini Street.

In addition to enjoying a variety of delicious dishes, Peunayong is also an interesting place to learn about Acehnese culture and history. Tourists can visit the Baiturrahman Mosque, which is one of the landmarks of the city of Banda Aceh. This mosque was built in 1879 and became a symbol of spiritual strength and the fighting spirit of the Acehnese people against Dutch colonialism. Additionally, tourists can also visit the Aceh Museum, which displays historical and cultural collections of Aceh such as traditional clothing, traditional weapons, and handicrafts.

In addition, Peunayong also has a bustling traditional market, namely the Peunayong Market. This market is the center of trade and commerce in Peunayong, providing various goods and services such as clothing, food, groceries, and daily necessities. The Peunayong Market is also a suitable place to look for Aceh souvenirs and specialties such as batik, handicrafts, and Aceh coffee.

Peunayong, known as a village of diversity, also has an annual festival that celebrates the differences and cultural diversity in this village. The Peunayong Lion Dance Festival is held every year and features various activities such as art performances, culinary exhibitions, and traditional competitions. This festival is attended by Peunayong residents and tourists from all over Indonesia.

On the way to Peunayong, tourists can also find many comfortable and affordable accommodations such as hotels, historical lodgings, and guesthouses. Tourists can also enjoy various sports and recreational activities such as swimming, jogging, and cycling in places close to Peunayong.
