The Fort San Pedro is the Philippines' oldest and smallest fort having been built by the Spaniards under Miguel Lopez de Legazpi. It is said that this fort was initially built of wood, but that stones were later added to block Muslim invaders.

Before you enter the Fort don't forget to look at this beautiful lavender Tree this is like a blossom tree of Japan they are beautiful in actuality.

The tour won't be completed if you don't take a photo of the signage of the destination right? So here we are together with my kids we didn't miss this to take a photo of it but made this pictorial quickly because some people waiting on the side.

Then be amazed at the entrance of the Fort San Pedro you'll see the Philippine Flag, the image of Santo Niño the seal of the Spanish King and also The Fort San Pedro also known as The El Fuerte de San Pedro.

Meanwhile, during the American regime, the barracks were converted into a school! During World War II, it was a place of refuge for Japanese residents and eventually served as an emergency hospital for the wounded. If the walls could speak, Fort San Pedro holds so many stories and secrets.

Fort San Pedro is also one of the tourist spots in Cebu so be aware that this place is surrounded of tourist like foreign so the line on paying the entrance might that long on that day since there are a lot of tourists on that day I don't know on other day but be patient and respectful anyway it just took us 1 to 2 minutes.

You won't be tired or bored waiting because, at the entrance of the port, you will see the Fort San Pedro in the past, what it looked like and how San Pedro Fort works Knowing a bit about a structure's past and its significance to the city made the place so interesting and colourful.

The guard in Fort San Pedro is so accommodating we also got a free entrance for my kids since it was my son's birthday she also informed us that the lawn at the centre of the triangular Fort used to hold events like weddings and birthdays and just approach the staff at the entrance.

Entering Fort San Pedro, you will see this Pwd ( person with disabilities) they are blind they play musical instruments like guitar and piano for tourists and they will get a donation for their talent this was a great idea to help them. they also have a small gallery for their historical collection.

Every corner of this triangular fort holds a bastion for San Miguel (north) Ignacio de Loyola (southeast), and La Concepcion (southwest). You'll also spot a turret or watchtower on these corners and it has 14 cannons around the Fort.

As we roamed around the place I noticed my son enjoying his birthday on historical collections he did look at those pictures silently. The place was best for kids to learn about our history, while the kids were learning the family also had a great quality time.

Hindi pa ako nakapunta diyan salamat sa information boss!

Welcome boss hopefully makapunta po kayo.

Thank you for the updates Sir @ace26 the last time that I visited Fort San Pedro is 2013. The entrance fee is 20 pesos on that time. I want to visit the place again. 30 pesos entrance fee is okay.

The place was worth 30 pesos so I don't think they have renovated the place or it is the same as it was when you visited last time, anyways your welcome po ☺️

In my mind I was thinking of Fort Santiago 😁.

It is always nice to go visit historical places and have a glimpsed of our history!

That was I am thinking when my wife talked about it, I actually argue about it I insisted that she changed the name of the fort santiago but it is literally the fort San pedro. Yes it is indeed a priceless moment to visit the place and more special because I visited it with my family.

I love this place. From its structure, to the different designs and decorations being placed, is very interesting.

Yes but some of the room in San pedro is under renovated but they still preserved the structures and design the same in the past.

I love this place too 😍

Same with me ☺️

It's nice to hear about your family's experience, particularly your son's birthday celebration at Fort San Pedro. The free entrance for kids on special occasions is a kind gesture by the staff/management.

The structure of Fort San Pedro looks similar to Fort Santiago we have here in Manila. I hope I can also visit that place, too!

Yes they are kind and accomodating kuddos to the management to hire those staff that accomodate their guest and give discount especially for kids, hopefully if you can travel here in Cebu I can show you the place.

This fort looks so cool 😎😎

Indeed beautiful and historical hopefully someday you can visit the place ☺️

Wow, this day seems to have been really interesting. Thanks for sharing 😃

Your welcome ☺️
