May your coffee be strong, and your day be beautiful! Good day, Hives! It's me again, Ace26, your Gwapo (handsome) blogger from the Philippines.
Today, I wanna share with you all our trip to Cebu basically in Plaza Independencia ☺️.
it was early in the morning when we left Naga City Cebu for a day off trip; while I was driving, I felt the hot weather, so I decided to find a place where we could rest for a while.
When you are in Cebu City, all you will see are buildings and establishments, but who thought that in this busy City, there would be a park surrounded by age-old Acacia trees and different Colors of flowers?
People hanging and chilling out under the trees, birds chirping, butterflies roaming around the flowers.
You can enjoy the view and take some pictures all over the place. You can also have a picnic with your loved ones in the Bermuda Grass. If you go to the plaza independently at night, you can see the beautiful lights in the place.
It is also safe to roam around the place since it has a security guard that roams around the park from time to time, and why the plaza is clean because of the personnel assigned to clean the area, and there are a lot of garbage cans around the park, so throw your trust carefully or keep it.
On weekdays, the Plaza Independencia is full of students from different universities, Student spending their vacant time or doing their activities.
It is also a memory lane of Cebu as it features the different tourist spots around Cebu.
The Plaza Independencia is also one of the most beautiful places in Cebu City; it is also surrounded by known universities in Cebu, the food hub, Fort San Pedro and the Museo de Sugbo.
After a while, my daughter got to sleep, so we stopped by on the bench so that she could sleep comfortably. Little did I know I also got to sleep. I forgot that I was in a public park, maybe because of the birds chirping and the breeze of air that makes you sleepy.
After a few minutes, my daughter woke up, and we decided to go back home because we also had to pitch my son to school.
History
Plaza Independencia symbolizes the independence and freedom of the province against its invaders, these age-old acacia trees witnessed how invaders tried to take over the Island and witnessed the rich history of the province and the colonial days.
The Plaza Independencia was Originally called The Plaza de Armas because The plaza was once used as a military grounds parade and training. It eventually changed to Plaza Mayor when the place was expanded and widened.
If you would like to visit the Plaza Independencia, it is beside the Fort San Pedro, Near Magellan Cross and Museo de Sugbo.

Plaza independencia is so very beautiful, you can really stay there and chill especially when its not hot. A best place to visit.
Indeed, besides Plaza Independencia, there are other nearby tourist spots worth visiting, such as Fort San Pedro and the Museo de Sugbo, which are just a short walk from the plaza.
Plaza Indep is where we usually go after school while I'm still studying. Hays, I miss that place 🥹
