Welcome to Cebu Safari and Adventure Park

Located in Barangay Corte, Toril, Carmen, Cebu, is a safari and an adventure park that offers a fun and an educational attraction to families. The 170-hectare property is founded by Michel J. Lhuillier and is filled with different species of animals and wonderful landscapes. You can either explore the place on foot or on a cart ride that will take you around the place with a tour guide. If you would like to discover the hidden corners of the place, you can choose the former one and choose the latter if your goal is to cover a bigger area without much effort in a day or if you can no longer feel your feet.

The place is filled with different kinds of trees—huge and tall ones—and other plants as well providing shades and cool temperature to the place. It will make you think you are standing in the middle of the forest as if you are Jane and are about to meet Tarzan somewhere around the corner.

Meet the Animals!

Just by following the trails, huge possibilities exist that you’ll see different animals roaming around the area. Personally, this was the first time I got to see in person all the animals I only saw in books and movies.

Birds

Different kinds of birds can be seen in the safari chirping around as if they are singing a song when they take flight.

There are parrots like Rio and other ones in different colors whom you can interact with by feeding them with bread.

Majestic black and white swans, floating gracefully around the lake. Ostriches, peacocks, herons, and other ones I no longer recognized.

Herbivores

A lot of grass-eating animals can also be seen, from the tallest giraffes eating their meals hung up on high ground to the deer, zebras, and horses laying around and munching grass on the plain field to the monkeys swinging around and staring at you as if they are judging your actions, haha, or maybe I was just overthinking too much.

Reptiles

There are also some reptiles, from the adorable, slow-moving tortoise with their huge shells on the back to the terrifying-looking crocodiles, which are not moving at all unless there is meat thrown at them. Now I understand why Snow White had mistaken the logs as crocodiles; they can easily fool anyone into thinking they are not living things but rather are wooden sculptures you can take photos with. Please don’t ever be fooled!

Down to the animals I hardcore fell in love with! ♡

There is this group of soft-looking and adorable, curious meerkats laying around, playing, and some of them standing upright straight, which I find really cute.

Representing the Cat Family are the cheetahs, lions, and orange and white tigers, who all look so adorable and fluffy. My inner voice kept telling me to hug them the entire time.

DSC_0952.JPG

During our visit, I caught sight of the Cheetah taking a nap. You can clearly see how annoyed the adorable fella looked after waking up. However, despite its grumpy looking face it is still adorable. I honestly want to lie down beside it and give it hugs and kisses hahaha.

Here comes the mighty orange-striped tiger! The fella looked so huge. It was like a huge version of my kitty cats at home. It was taking its afternoon stroll around the trees especially near the bamboos. I guess it's the tiger's favorite spot?

And here's another huge stinking cute fella, the white-striped tiger! Unlike the other two, I could say that this one is in a good mood. It was playing around and enjoying the water in the little pond. One of the care takers explained why the white tiger was separated from the orange one, and it is because the orange tiger was quite territorial.

Restaurant

After a long exhausting adventure, visitors head to the restaurant to replenish their lost energy by devouring varities of food on plate; meat, rice, vegetables, and fruits. The place look so chic and elegant and it offers you a perfect view of the lake where you can see the lovely swans enjoying their afternoon swim.

Flower Garden

Another attraction visitors must not miss is the huge flower garden filled with varieties of flowers and botanical plants. Walking around this huge field transports you to another dimenson. The sweet scent coming from the flowers floating in the air and the soft and calming sound of the running river nearby are something you’ll need to remove all the exhaustion from the long day before heading home.

Cebu Safari and Adventure Park has still a lot more to offer! There are still many things I did not get to try during our visit, like the zipline ride, ATV ride, a swim in the pool area, and many more. The place offers visitors different experiences: a mixture of flora, fauna, and extreme physical adventure that promotes inclusivity and diversity. Allowing you to choose your own adventure based on your preference.
