Welcome to our wonderful Hive.
The answer depends on what you plan to do on Hive.
If you are a blogger my answer would be to find your niche(s) and start blogging well.
I am a blogger. So I can only give an answer for the blogging topic. (I am not experienced in the investment matter.)
Having a certain niche is very helpful in having fewer competitors and likely targeting interested users who can only or also can find the specific type of content on your blog. But be aware. A niche can also be so deep in the dark that nobody would care about the content in it.
Even when other bloggers found your specific niche already for their own blogs, decide if it could yet be a niche in your own mother tongue.
Share your content regularly to generate interest and show that you're engaged. Always look at the quality of your posts (grammar, form ...).
Be authentic, be yourself. If others have the feeling that you are only trying to get likes with little effort and fake entertainment, it will go bad.
The most users also very like images. Use photos whenever you can. Inter alia, most users usually choose to take a closer look at a post when they are interested in the cover image of a post in the listings. And they might decide against taking a closer look if the cover photo doesn't look interesting.
The other side is the reading flow itself. Sample pictures and funny picture supplements can ease the flow and the fun of reading immensely.
Find appropriate tags to add to your posts. Tags categorizes your posts, so other users can find them easily by using keywords.
