Hello Wine Nerds! So it has been a few days since I came in to check in on the Cheers Community, and first post that popped up, was one from @skott83 about how drinking great wine does not have to be expensive. I could not agree more! This is why you always here me talking about Bordeaux. Places like this take there wine very seriously, as do most in the wine world. But it is also true there are many shit wines out there in the cheap side of the bracket. But same can be said for wines that are not exactly cheap. But I digress, back to cheap wine.
Cheap does not equal bad wine, and expensive does not equal great wine. This bottle proves that. A 12 year wine for 11$, that is the best wine I have had in the past couple months! Not only that, I had this a few days ago, and can not stop thinking about it. You all who love wine no what I am talking about. Great wine is unforgettable. I have had bottles 6 years ago, and can remember them like yesterday. This 11$ bottle will be the same. I wonder if I should go back to Bevmo, and pick up the rest on the shelf? I bet this wine has another 5-10 years of life in it, easy. But why wait that long, when it is already this good! Show, or tell me about a wine you once had that was remarkable for less then 15 American dollars in the comments, or better yet, do a post in the Cheers community.
Cheers!! 🍷🍷
Back at you!
Price is difficult to compare between countries and certainly between continents because of the transport rate and import taxes...
This said I definitely agree that paying 12 usd for this wine, even not being a real St-Emilion AOC not to mention a grand cru, is a bargain. Go and buy the rest of that shelf before others discover it!!!!!
LOL so true! I really wonder if this would be cheaper in France? Thanks for stopping by.
I swear im like the only person who hits up the France section at this particular store, which is very small. There are bottles that I have got that blew my mind, and I keep on saying Ill get the last one, and the way I am I usually always get something different, and that last one is still there! One is a Chablis, and the other is Rhone blend.
Hey hope you don't mind, I put you as a mod in the Cheers community. I appreciate your knowledge, and you being upfront. No expectations, just in case we ever get busy, there will be more of us.
Thank you for your kind words! Here's some !LUV Maybe by the time I'll have enought wine to give as well, you never know... Will check out the Community soon. It's nice to be among people who like good (food and) drinks...
