Stay Away
The wise would advise to stay afar,
do not approach, nor touch, or care.
It is best out of mind, thrown to the depths,
left to rot and forgotten in despair.
No good can come, no light escape,
enveloped and smothered by invisible arms.
Potential smeared and dripping as fresh paint,
without art, or skill, nor qualms.
Keep your distance they have instructed,
with lessons unwanted and out of reach.
The words were heard and passed upon,
as nonsensical and unintelligible speech.
With poison winding through the veins,
mind malignant and contaminated.
Deepening breath and impending doom,
left wasted away and intoxicated.
No motion in mind, no movement in hand,
Not curl of lip, nor twitch of eye.
Just the faintest beat upon the street,
unnoticed or ignored by passersby.
Do not slow, or pause, nor even look,
and do not bend to extend a hand.
You'd do well to listen and fill your fear,
Just in case I choose to stand.
I remember when I was a kid, my father insisted that I didn't stick my fingers in a white thing on the wall, but ‘curiosity killed the cat’, alone, I stuck a fork in and got an electric shock. Human beings are curious by nature, they tell us don't touch that because you'll get burnt and of course we're going to touch it.
Now, as an adult, I pass that knowledge on to Matthew and he seems to be more obedient than I was at his age.
Getting away from toxic people is an absolute necessity. Nowadays, I know who to let across borders and who not to let across borders, that comes with age and experience.
Weirdly, I like getting electrocuted. I was accidentally electrocuted when I was eight or so, and ever since I quite like the "buzz" :D
Is obedience a good thing? Sure, it keeps kids safe a lot of the time, but what are the costs of only doing what is told? Is there a loss of adventure and creativity across populations?
Our generation was more daring, you could say ‘rebellious’.
Very bleak! Yet quite a poignant meditation on isolation, mental anguish, and the fierce boundaries people keep between themselves and others - your subject oozes threat and even violence lest anyone even try to help. Who is your subject here Taraz? Your dabblings in poetry are very good! They also reveal a whole other side to you. It takes some courage to share poetry as they have an emotional side that invites rather than pushes away - thankyou for sharing.
I think most of my poetry is pretty bleak and as you say, it is another side if me. Perhaps it is the stronger side of my personality, or one that guides me more than the lighter side. Not sure if it is courage or frailty.
There's strength in frailty. More Aussie men need to take that lead imo.
Exploring darkness helps us see and appreciate the light.
Bleak? ...uhm, not enough bleak visual poetry yet in my opinion! :D
Never said bleak was bad! Coming from a lover of dystopia and post apocalyptic speculative fiction, I appreciate bleak 😜
🤣🤣🤣
Dear my bro @tarazkp !
There are currently some East Asians who claim that Europe is collapsing because of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
I guess you are feeling hopeless and anxious about the economic situation in Europe that is at its worst!?
I would guess that economic hardship is causing you the greatest anxiety and distress at the moment!
I hope your health and long life!
I don't think that there is economic collapse because of the war there - it is just an excuse. Finances have always been my biggest stress point.
I think this poem has some anarchic thoughts :)

Some of your best writing.
Powerful words, to me, you are describing how people refuse to see the reality of the world we see in. Following the words of those who wish to keep us in line. I hope more of us stand up xxx
This could be a poetic reflection.
There are interesting messages in his poetry that have to do with the philosophy of life.
For example, there is one that is related to the sage's advice to stay away, not to touch...
The above may be true and it is true. But, there is a proverb that says that no one is fooled by another's head and decides to try it. Only the blows of life will make you understand the reason that the wise man was right.
Another lesson I understand is about prohibiting something. In my experience, human beings are addicted to what is forbidden and when you forbid something you want to see what is behind the prohibition.
Thank you for sharing.
Happy journey.
Cheers and best regards.
