Monday brings the weight/
of wearing a mask upon my face/
Tuesday the echo of laughter/
unity put on hold/
Wednesday clacking worry beads/
in white gloved hands/
Thursday declaring the world’s/
an unfit place to go
Friday finds me straddling/
no clapping/ no showy grandstands/
Saturday a busy race/
I lose my patience/ I lose my grace
Sunday I need a break.
Give me my liberty back for heaven’s sake.
