He fell first, she fell harder

Their eyes met
There was that awkward smile, they looked away
She was the most beautiful lass he ever saw
There was a shyness about her
It was as if she had no idea how ravishing she was
Cupid's arrow struck
He had fallen

He had an allure to him, she'd give him that
Illusions of him reared their head
No! She mustn't
She was afraid
Afraid if she allowed it, she'd be in too deep
But who was she to stand in the way
When fate certainly had other plans

Attraction became familiarity
Familiarity grew into fondness
Fondness ignited a burning desire
A desire which grew so strong, none of them had control over
They were bound
By whispers of love and promises enchanted
They were at the point of no return

She had bewitched him
He was no longer his own
He'd go to the ends of the earth for her
He belonged to her now
There was no doubt about it
After all, he fell first
Little did he know, however, how much power he wielded over her

She was nothing without him
Her being longed for him
Her heart beat for him
Her core blazed for him
For him, she'd burn down the world
For him, she'd lay down her life
She was hopelessly and utterly besotted

Her soul had been intertwined with his
The knots could never be severed
Her heart had been laid bare before him
To shatter into a million little shards
Or to hold, as a treasure to be guarded forever
Because yes, he fell first
But she fell harder;
Harder than he could ever imagine
