Between Errands —Haibun

Meditating on how @moeknows had described "Haibun and Haiku," which I am not familiar with, will be the basis for my poetic reflection.

I find this week's poem to be very daring.

I understand that:
"Haibun" is a form that combines prose-like reflection with a "Haiku" at the end.

I hope I met @moeknows' and @hive-161465's expectations.

The morning pulls me outside
before courage arrives.
I carry lists, expectations,
the weight of what must be done.
Buses argue with the road,
voices rise, horns insist.
Still, somewhere between two
crossings,
I pause.
Not because the world softened,
but because I did.
I breathe once—
and that is enough
to continue.

Street noise pauses—
my breath finds its own rhythm
before the next step.

This is my response to this week's Haibun challenge.

THANK YOU FOR THE REFLECTION AND SEE YOU AGAIN WITH MORE POEMS

@happy080 I'll level with you. While the poem is very nice, it has strong indicators that it is created by AI. Can you tell me what prompt(s) you used to create it? I'm not opposed to using AI to help inspire and refine your poetry, but I personally want to see the human in the writing. I like to promote authentic human interaction here and AI generated works are counteractive to that.

You seem to be putting forth some authentic effort so I want to support you, but I can't without understanding the full extent of the influence of AI.

Thank you for engaging thoughtfully with my work.

This piece was written by me. I do sometimes seek feedback, critique, and guidance, as many writers do, but the writing is mine— the observations, structure, personal reflection, and final wordings are my own.

So no, I didn't use a prompt.

So did you use AI for feedback or critique?

I sometimes seek feedback or critique on my writing, just as writers do with editors, peers, or workshops. The poem itself was written by me, and the final wording is my own.

Ok. Thank you. I appreciate the discussion.

It's always my pleasure @moeknows

I really loved the lines about the bus arguing with the road. I never heard it explained like that. Good write.

Thank you very much, your words are kind, that means a lot to me coming from you.

Have a splendid Monday today.😊
