There she is, standing in front of her reflection,
a girl I was, in an eternal instant,
her hair loose, like a sincere river,
her eyes full of promise, dreams to be discovered.
Her gaze shines, like a star in the night,
caresses the mirror, where time hides,
an echo of laughter, a distant murmur,
memories that dance, in her mind in summer.
The smile she wears, like a shining shield,
does not fear destiny, nor the passing of time,
It is a ray of sunshine in a lost world,
pure strength, in its contained being.
The grandmother that I am contemplates her,
not with sadness, but with tenderness.
She runs, I walk, she dreams, I remember.
She seeks, I have found.
