Over the years, I have been thinking about our cultural inheritance and the benefit our people ought to have gained but was denied by the introduction of religion.
Am not condemning religion but that was another culture, let us regard our culture for in it lies our fortunes, inheritance and blessings.
Here is the poem as composed for me
Rugged as the road may be
Oh wider road
Many follow,
As deceptive as they bring.
Oh, ancient ways.
Born on an existing path
Abolished by the modern path
Oh, my ancient custom,
In it, our origin began.
Where are the pathfinders
Where are our custom
Where is our inheritance
Abolished by the new path.
Earth is bound with people
People are bound by culture
Culture is bound by inheritance.
Where is our inheritance?
Oh, the new path deceived us.
Oh religion, the mother of our misfortune
Our people are known for their cultural heritage
But thou came and deceived us,
We must trend in our inheritance, for there our forefathers tarried.
Oh my culture, my inheritance.

This is a beautiful piece🤗 such a timely poetry when most people forgot their culture already. Our culture and tradition was almost gone and we started adapting our colonizers customs but we started reclaiming it back👍👍it is such an honor to read your work, it is really a writers' identity when they talk about their culture🙌🙌
