Oda al Mar (esp-eng)

Español
Te extraño, mar,
te extraño en cada atardecer,
sé que sigues ahí,
cambiante e inalterable,
único y, a la vez,
tan cambiante en cada marea.
Quizás llegue a perecer
sin volverte a ver.

Extraño el azul
de tus ojos, en las olas,
la espuma llegaba
y se iba a toda prisa,
el salitre que en la piel
se colaba,
el rojo de tus mejillas,
con brisa.

¿Qué será de ti, mar?
¿Me extrañas, como yo a ti?
¿Piensas en mí,
como yo pienso en ti?
Te imagino rodeado
de gaviotas y golondrinas
que al este volaban,
en tardes divinas.

El brillo de la arena
quedó en mi pupila,
cierro los ojos
y aún la diviso y calculo.
Los paseos infinitos,
sin nada más allá,
todo quedó guardado,
siempre en mi mirar.

English
I miss you, sea,
I miss you at every sunset,
I know you are still there,
changing yet unchanging,
unique and, at the same time,
so changeable in every tide.
Perhaps I may perish
without seeing you again.

I miss the blue
of your eyes, in the waves,
the foam that reached
the shore and vanished quickly,
the salt that seeped
into the skin through pores,
the red of your cheeks,
with the breeze.

What will become of you, sea?
Do you miss me, as I miss you?
Do you think of me,
as I think of you?
I imagine you surrounded
by seagulls and swallows
that once flew to the east,
in divine afternoons.

The shine of the sand
is burned into my pupil,
I close my eyes
and still see and measure it.
The endless walks,
nothing more beyond,
all kept safe,
always in my sight.
