Oh dear, hare said, here we go again. If it continues with those alien space things there won't be a tree left. They are wrecking our habitat.

Hidden in the bushes the animals gazed at the horizon. Spacecraft of unknown species filled the air. It wasn't exactly the starry night they had in mind.

In the dark, they waited for the moment the noise and strange smell would vanish and it would be safe again but it felt as if what they hoped for would never happen.

Hours passed after the crash before a delegation of animals dared to have a closer look. At daylight standing at an open spot in the forest was against their nature. In amazement, they looked at the ship that seemed to be pierced by a tree

I can't believe my eyes, dear said. Is that ship eating our trees? If that's the case we know who the enemy is.

It makes a copy of the tree, said a voice behind them, and as one they turned around. The cat grinned, waved with its tail, and disappeared before they could ask him what he meant.

It's the copycat, the squirrel said, he'll be back again. Let's make a plan so we are prepared for the new world.
