The Roman Catholic Demagoguery & The Entitlement Illusion

in Freewriters19 days ago

I listened to a sermon by a Roman Catholic priest whose message centered on criticizing prosperous, productive individuals for not openly sharing their wealth with those who lack it. The irony is that this argument stands in stark opposition to a fundamental biblical principle: “To those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But those who have not, even what they have will be taken away.” (Matthew 13:12)

The Reality Behind Poverty

The harsh truth is that poverty often stems from intellectual incapacity, laziness, or both. Yet, these same individuals claim to have God on their side and boldly assert that “money is the root of all evil.” Oddly enough, they never miss an opportunity to beg for that very “evil” money from the so-called “wicked rich.”

How absurd is that? If even God isn’t willing to intervene on their behalf, why should anyone else?

When they shout, “Help us!” what they truly mean is:

  • Fill the gaps created by our lack of productivity.
  • Don’t ask us to change our ways or renew our minds.

They neither want nor deserve help because they reject the very foundation of progress—self-accountability and effort.

The Fruits of Labor

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with owning luxury properties or enjoying an abundance of wealth if it has been earned fairly. People reveal their character through the fruits of their labor, and that labor is often a testament to discipline, intellect, and perseverance.

The Socialist Mental Virus

In many emerging democratic republics, there’s a lingering mental virus called socialism. This ideology feeds on envy and entitlement. People claim they want a “fair game,” but what they truly desire is access to wealth they haven’t earned.

What they seek is not equality of opportunity, but equality of outcome—at the expense of those who are more clever, industrious, or strategic. IQ, after all, remains one of the most reliable predictors of a person’s future income.

Why Redistribution Doesn’t Work

If all the world’s money were evenly distributed among every person today, it would take less than a decade before the wealth returned to the same pockets it came from. Why? Because success is never an accident. It’s the product of effort, foresight, and discipline—qualities that can’t simply be handed out like cash.

The unintelligent often demand to be made successful by the intelligent, yet paradoxically, they despise the prosperity of those who could uplift them. It’s laughably ridiculous.

Democracy’s Fatal Flaw

Democracy, at its core, is a euphemism for national suicide. When the masses demand redistribution of wealth without accountability or effort, they erode the very fabric of progress.

As the old saying goes: “You’ll know them by their fruits.” And sadly, many of those demanding help bear no fruit at all.
