James, who is working, goes to work early today as well.
A new female employee came to the department where James works.
Her name was Olivia and she was pretty and smart after graduating from college.
As a boss, James kindly taught me about the work of the company.

James was still single and still lacked love experience.
James thought Olivia liked him.
Because, she would often make eye contact and smile.
He handed out candy to his desk and touched his arm lightly during the conversation or laughed at my words a lot.
So I dreamed of romantic love with her.

A few days later, James decided to tell her to watch a movie together on the weekend.
James, who came to work early in the morning, found Olivia, who came to work before him.
So James gathered his courage and approached her.
"Hi, Olivia, you came to work early today."
"Hello James, I came to work early because I had a report to hand in this morning."

With courage, James tells her.
"Olivia, do you want to watch a movie with me this weekend?"
Olivia looks at James at his sudden request for a date.
She appears to be thinking for a moment and then talks to James.
"James, I have zero interest in you rationally at all. I'm sorry. I was just being nice as a co-worker."
James was taken aback by her answer.
I realized that she, who had been kind to her, thought wrong that she was interested in me rationally.
'Oh, I mistook her simple kindness for favor,' thought James.

"Oh, I see, I misunderstood that I liked your kindness."

James returned to his seat with a disappointed look on his face.

It's been a miserable day for James.

Men sometimes misunderstand that they like women's simple kindness.

Kindness and likability are distinctly different. Just because a person shows kindness does not mean that he or she is unconditionally liked by reason.

It may just be having ordinary manners or slightly more manners.
