One day at a time is the goal. I had my review of the last year in December and also mapped out my plans for 2024. Some are big and scary, but all of them are - achievable.

In order to avoid not achieving my plans and shifting them to the next year, I mapped out a means to live a more fulfilling life. Here are things I have been and will keep imbibing.

  1. Have Positive Energy Everytime: This cannot be overemphasized. I guess you must have seen or heard that your energy matters a lot. How you feel about an issue matters a lot. For instance, I could stand for hours without feeling discomfort in the process of hair and wig making but put me in a queue for five minutes, and I will begin to lose my patience. That's why I haven't gone to a bank since 2022. Standing isn't the problem, it is the mindset behind the standing that matters.
What am I driving at? The energy you exude whether positive or negative starts from your thoughts, so guide your heart jealously and direct it to think positively always, that way you will exude positive energy that gives room for growth, possibilities, and happiness. Having positive energy means seeing the good side of a situation all the time. Stay positive fam!

  2. Break Down Your Wishes: I have big dreams, heaven knows. The thing is I keep writing them out, but I am yet to achieve a lot of them. What I have done this year is to break that wish down to the barest minimum of action. Rather than keeping it vague, I have and will crystalize the actions I need to take. For instance, I plan to be a better leader in the various teams I lead. I have broken it down to carrying out my tasks immediately, rather than procrastinating. I also added continuous motivation of my members and a reminder of the vision of the various teams from time to time. Rather than just vaguely saying I want to be a better leader, I have outlined actions I intend to take to achieve them. I pray for God's blessings on them.

  3. One Day at a Time: As I wrote on this point, a very beautiful song came to play in my mind-- Cristy Lane's "One Day at a Time" The lyrics of the song are so captivating and easy to relate with just like her other songs. Go take a listen after reading this.
Taking it one day at a time is to map out actions you will take for the day that will help you achieve your dreams and do the best in your vocation. This year, I have a daily to-do list that keeps me on track with the bigger picture, that way, I see to it that something is done rather than waiting for the perfect life.

Thus far, it has been working since I decided on this technique. It takes away anxiety and keeps me focused on the growth I have made for the day, that way I sleep feeling fulfilled and wake up charged for the next day. Little drops make a mighty ocean, I can't wait for my ocean to be.

Having a daily to-do list will keep you feeling happy that you achieved something and even help you prevent procrastination and laziness. This is only possible if you respect the daily plan. In a bid to respect it, try your best possible, however, don't over-exhaust yourself.

I made a plan to complete a draft for a submission, and I saw to it that I took extra time to do it. While I couldn't complete it that day, I felt good about myself that I was able to put in extra effort than I would have ordinarily done, and I am so satisfied and happy about that.
Every day makes the year right? So go ahead taking it one day at a time.

PS: From the last 2 points, you would have noticed the essence of journaling. Journal your everyday.
Have a great 365 Days.
