Brand new canvas. If I were a painter, I imagine a brand new canvas would feel like an exciting opportunity. Or maybe it would feel oppressive, like a hope for something that may never come to pass. I wouldn't mind being more artistic, maybe taking a drawing class or just trying to teach myself how to sketch, or just playing with paints more. But I'd kind of like an art room to do that in. I know one doesn't NEED an art room to do art, one can make do with what one has, but wouldn't a studio be nice? Yes, it would be. Maybe we should just uproot and go get a bigger house in another, cheaper state. I do think that could be nice, one day. But not now. I think California is a very nice place to be right now. Easier to travel to and from Washington, closer to my mom's siblings, and they're all getting up there. My mom just turned 77. So Karl is 79. We should do something special for his 80th. For my grandma's 80th, they (my aunts and uncle and mom and grandma) went to be in the audience of the Price is Right with shirts that said "I'm a kid of Katy, who's 80 today" and "I'm a lady named Katy who's 80 today." Might be nice to do that for Karl. "I'm a ...." What rhymes with Karl...
