If we are socially safe?

We are socially active in different types of media platforms. But if we are safe?

With every day we get deeper and deeper into the internet virtual world. And with it, there are more and more threats to us and others. But what is that threat for us?

One of the threats is collecting information about a person for subsequent selfish use or disclosure without his or her permission. This data can indicate a person's marital status, home address, place of work, telephone number, social security number, can reveal bank account and credit card information, information about personal correspondence, hobbies, prior education, intimate relationships. This is what concerns a person's private life.

But unfortunately, nowadays we don't think much about it.

Yes you can do anything on the internet but you can't hide yourself.

Whatever the reason, the main goal of a hacker is to violate privacy and put people in an awkward position, sometimes with dire consequences. We live in an age of data when there is a lot of personal information on the Internet and people control it much less than they are aware of it. This means that anyone with the time, motivation, and interest can turn this data into a weapon. Many people use the same username and password in different services. This gives potential hackers a fairly broad idea of the victim's interests and how they spend their time online.

Everyone has experienced a situation where, after searching for a product on the Internet, an advertisement for that product appears on websites immediately after search infrequently used social sites. We are followed, we are watched in the most direct way.

Of course, you maybe start to think it can't happen to me, it happens more to popular and rich people because they have more to lose. However, this does not mean that it cannot affect each of us. We regularly manage personal data, whether we are aware of it or not. We are leaving our digital footprints everywhere. This includes sharing photos, tagging locations, uploading documents, installing a new app, or browsing online stores. If your social networking accounts are publicly available, anyone can get information about you and start cyberbullying. You can find out your location, place of work, information about friends, get photos, places you visit, find out the names of family members and pets. With this information, hackers can find answers to your security questions and break into your other accounts.

I'm only writing this, I know some people who are lost really much for their frivolity and carelessness of using different types of media platforms. We can't write anything on the internet.

To ensure data security and reduce risks, people need to pay attention to who and how the data is disclosed and take certain precautions to maintain control over it. Precautions are taken in part by installing and managing appropriate personal data protection tools, such as password managers or browser extensions to ensure privacy.

Think about your every next move on the internet and be safe!
