Invincible Bengal is one of the best sculptures in Bangladesh. Built on the theme of liberation war, this sculpture is located in front of Dhaka University Kala Bhavan.
Aparajeyo Bangla (Aparajeyo Bangla) is a sculpture dedicated to the war of independence of Bangladesh which depicts three freedom fighters. One of them is a woman, two are men.
People of all walks of life, irrespective of gender, participated in the freedom struggle of Bangladesh. The Pak army was defeated by their combined resistance and attack. 'Invincible Bengal' is the symbol of participation of people of all walks of life in the freedom struggle.
Construction of the sculpture began in 1983. The work was completed in 1989. The sculpture, built on an 8-foot altar, is 12 feet high, 8 feet wide, and 8 feet in diameter.
One of its three statues represents the larger population holding a rifle belt firmly in the right hand. In its eyes, the stimulus of the consciousness of freedom is safe. Its model was Art College student freedom fighter Badrul Alam Benu. Syed Hamid Maqsood Fazle was the model of the other idol who was standing in a smooth posture with a three knot three rifle. And Hasina Ahmed was the model of female idol.
Invincible Bengal has no inscription with the name of the sculptor. This symbol of independence has been created by the talented artist and sculptor Syed Abdullah Khalid.
The image of the three freedom fighters standing on the altar in front of the Kala Bhaban of Dhaka University seems to be singing the song of establishing equality in the country by eliminating injustice and inequality. The spirit of liberation war is spreading among the students of the university. This sculpture depicts the warriors of all classes.
