Cats do know the voice of their owners

My cat Panther, he knows my voice. When I call out Panther he turns his head a bit. It is like Panther knows it is me calling him Panther. Anybody else says Panther, it responds. I actually know how to name cats if they're kittens, just lure them with food and use the name to call them before you give them food, and that registers as a sound tired to food.

This little fella comes running to me sometimes, almost like a dog does. Other times he just stays where he is and pretends that he does not hear me. But I notice that his ears move. My voice is something that he knows well.

I was reading something. It said that cats can know the voice of their owner. They know the voice of a stranger. Cats can tell the difference, between the two voices. Even when cats seem like they do not care about anything they still know the voice of their owner.

When I open a tin of food my cat appears from nowhere. That sound the can opener is something he also remembers. It means food is coming so my cat shows up. My cat loves food and the sound of the can opener is what tells him it is time to eat.

Every time he does this. It does not matter if it is beans or something else, he still comes to check on the food.

The way I talk to him is important. If I speak softly to him he, lets me rub him and even turns over for me to rub his belly. If I raise my voice to him just a little bit, he walks away.

He obviously does not understand sentences, he's not a human being. It seems to me that he only knows the sounds that're important, to him. The sound of his name is one of them. The noises that food makes is another one. He also likes the sound of my voice when I am talking to him.

People think that cats are really good at remembering things. Like when something happens. It makes them think of something else. My cat Panther is an example of this. Panther remembers things that happened a time ago like months ago and when a similar thing is happening, he responds in mostly a defensive way.

My cat sometimes ignores me completely. I know that little guy heard me. Don't bite the hands the feed you, but this one says go away until you bring me some fish. He is just being a cat.

Anyway, he's sleeping in one of his many boxes now. Probably dreaming of food.
