My angel;
My genesis.
You stood by me when I was nothing;
And you gave me everything when I had nothing.
Keep going, I will be fine.
This used to be all you say to me;
Knowing fully well you gave out your reserve to me;
With nothing to fall back to.
My queen,
My whole world.
You gave me reasons to keep going.
You believed in me when no one did.
Though we both cry in the rain,
And make the smiles public.
All these you did in pain,
Just for the future we dreamed of.
Here am I; the apple of your eyes.
The one whom you have suffered for.
Remember we did our crying in the rain?
But now, even the rain won't stop me from making it up to you.
Yes, you sacrificed all for me,
Here am I to make you laugh;
Pay for your endless love,
And bring the future we hoped for to reality.
Because you stood by me at all costs when I was nothing,
I have come to be everything to you when I worth something.
Because you gave your love to me when I was weak,
I have come to walk you down the aisle when I become a successor.
Oh, my beautiful queen,
You worked and encouraged me to succeed.
Now I have come to give myself and my fame back to you.

Sometimes, please create time to appreciate the people who have done their best to help you attain your goal. Starting from parents, lovers, real friends, and advisers. Please appreciate them with words, and kinds. Though a thousand words can never be equivalent to the prices some of these people paid for you, however, letting them know their contrition matters to you means a lot.

This post is inspired by #freewritehouse with the title
Nice message in his poem @oluwashinaayomi. People feel inclined to give back to those who first showed unconditional love or generosity toward them. Your words remind me of people who give support to those when they are not well-known or famous, or have acquired an amount of wealth. Then when those changes appear in a person's life, the ones who believed in them in obscurity, that person remembers the sacrifice shown. That person knows it's genuine and don't mind sharing their new found status.
Thanks for sharing this poem. A reflective one I enjoyed reading that reminded me of the people in my early life who stood by me.

Thanks for taking your time to read through my poem @justclickindiva. When I saw the picture prompt, though it has been long I wrote poem, but I felt like writing one to showcase my thoughts despite only few communities accept poem. Thank goodness for #freewritehouse, at least I can showcase my feelings through poem there.
