There was a wicked mother named Adelaide who lived in a small village on the outskirts of a vast kingdom. Adelaide had a reputation for being cruel, manipulative, and greedy. She was a master of deception and would go to any lengths to get what she wanted.
Adelaide had one daughter named Arabella, whom she treated terribly. Arabella was a sweet and kind-hearted girl, but her mother never showed her any love or affection. Instead, Adelaide would constantly criticize and belittle Arabella, telling her that she was useless and would never amount to anything.
One day, the king of the kingdom announced that he would be holding a grand ball at his palace. The ball was to celebrate the engagement of his son, Prince Edward, to a princess from a neighboring kingdom. The entire village was buzzing with excitement, and Arabella was no exception. She had always dreamed of attending a grand ball, and this was her chance.
However, when Arabella asked her mother if she could attend, Adelaide scoffed at the idea. "You? Attend a grand ball? Don't make me laugh," she sneered. "You're not good enough to attend such a prestigious event. Besides, we don't have the money to buy you a fancy dress."
Arabella was devastated, but she refused to give up on her dream. She spent the next few weeks working tirelessly, sewing herself a beautiful gown from scraps of fabric she found around the house. When the day of the ball arrived, Arabella snuck out of the house while her mother was out running errands.
When Adelaide returned home and found that Arabella was gone, she flew into a rage. She stormed into the village, determined to find her daughter and punish her for disobeying her. When she arrived at the palace, she saw Arabella dancing with Prince Edward, looking more beautiful than she had ever seen her before.
Adelaide was filled with jealousy and anger. She approached Arabella and tried to pull her away from the prince, but Arabella stood her ground. "I won't let you ruin this for me," she said firmly.
Enraged, Adelaide lunged at her daughter, but in her blind fury, she tripped and fell down the palace stairs. She tumbled all the way to the bottom, landing with a sickening thud. Arabella rushed to her mother's side, but it was too late. Adelaide was dead.
As Arabella mourned the loss of her mother, she couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. For the first time in her life, she was free from her mother's tyranny. She knew that she would never forget the lessons her mother had taught her, but she was determined to live her life on her own terms, free from the wickedness that had plagued her family for generations
