I’m a former smoker and can remember giving up the day my doctor told me I was going to need a kidney transplant. That was difficult as I faced the most stressful time of my life. I have to admit, I stopped buying cigarettes but kept asking other people if I could “blag a fag”. Eventually my friends would say they only had a couple left and post transplant, I just never touched them again. It wasn’t easy. Not long after that I also had to quit coffee, chocolate, tomatoes but only for am awhile!
