After a tropical storm a pelican, lizard, gopher turtle, and frog found themselves on what they thought was an offshore oil rig but in reality, they were on the Sombrero Reef Lighthouse in the Florida Keys.

Being the smallest and the lightest the lizard was afraid he would be blown off but the gopher turtle had a heart for all things small and let him inside of his shell during the bad patches of weather. The little lizard was so scared that each time he came out of the shell he would tell the turtle that someone made a mess in there but it wasn't me. Of course, the turtle knew better but his heart felt bad for the little guy.

The frog felt confident that he could hang on when the gusts of wind hit. He had suction cups on his feet and long legs to wrap around the structure.

When the storm was over they discussed how they were going to make the 7-mile trip back to shore, the only one who could possibly make it was the pelican.

The gopher turtle was very sad, he could not swim and worried about his buddy the lizard with his short little legs being able to make it that far.

The sky had finally cleared and it was time to go.

The pelican had been sitting on the water listening to all of the ideas they had on how they were going to get to shore. He finally spoke up and said "listen,this ain't my first rodeo I carried triplets further than this trip will be. Turtle you climb in my pouch, frog, you wrap your legs around my neck, but not too tight. Lizard you can hide in the turtle's shell and I will fly all of you back to land.
A week later they all had a party for the pelican and presented him with a trophy that said first prize and super hero, you saved our lives from your forever friends, turtle, lizard, and frog.
