Within Myself Lies the Fault

I've come to see the mistake was in my heart
Comfort and warmth were offered from the start
Yet clouded was my mind, and chill I chose
Frigid isolation, though love's warmth knew
Now in winter's deathly grip myself entrapped
How foolish to turn from shelter's saving grace
Lesson learned: on others' mercy I must rely
When I look inside, 'tis there the problem lies
