How Learning German Turned My Summer Break Into a Life-Changing Adventure
It all started during summer break, a long stretch of six months with nothing much to do. While many kids my age might have spent the time playing games or watching TV, I decided to try something different—learning German. At first, it was just curiosity. I wanted to know what it felt like to speak or read in another language. But as soon as I started, I realized something surprising: I was good at it!
This discovery sparked an idea in my mind. What if I started learning German now? I thought. By the time I reach high school and it’s part of my curriculum, I could already be ahead of the game. It felt like an exciting challenge, and I couldn’t wait to see how far I could go.
Day after day, I dedicated time to learning, using whatever resources I could find. Before I knew it, 70 days had passed, and I had learned so much! From greetings and everyday phrases to the names of foods, places, and even basic grammar rules, all thanks to an app called "Duolingo". What made it even more special was that I accomplished this entirely on my own, without the help of an adult or formal lessons. Learning German didn’t just fill my summer; it transformed it into a season of growth, discovery, and pride.
I wish nothing happens that makes me stop learning German because that's my dream.
