I have another question, and I hope is not silly. I realized it's a celebration for the 1000 day 5 minutes freewrite. Are we supposed to write in 5 minutes as well?

Don't be afraid of the five minutes ... I start out with five and try to be finished in 6-8, but sometimes (most of the time) I end up so inspired I have to do a second post on the prompt!
I'll keep that in mind :)

Not silly at all.
You can start out as a freewrite - but truth be told, not many of the freewriters stick with the 5 minutes. Many use the timer or the most dangerous writing app to get started and then, either keep going if the muse strikes them or edit and write a longer piece.
For the contest - make it as long or as short as it needs to be.
