RE: The Benevolent Benefactress (Part 1) | Freewrite: 1/4/25 | Prompt: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

Oh my, this narrator's resentment against social inequality is palpable! This is an enjoyable read. You put us in the narrator's head and her raging thoughts raise questions. Her voice is raw, filled with such bitterness, anger and envy that I want to reach into your story and pull her out of this situation.

Her struggle is one most people are familiar with—the class disparity in every society. Often, it's the lower class that rails against the upper for their privileged lifestyle. But I'm curious about Beatrice Brampton and her connection with the narrator.

Your vivid description of this wealthy woman is fascinating so it's not surprising that the narrator admires and hates her at the same time. You have me in suspense as to the narrator's next move? Will she openly express her resentment to Harrison during the inspection or keep mute and continue to stew in her turmoil?

Another exciting series! I look forward to the next part. Nicely done. ✨

Yes, @kemmyb. She is angry at the inequality in life heaped upon her for no fault of her own. The decisions here parents made placed her and her siblings in that dire predicament. But she bears the weight being the oldest. She had two choices, leave and find a better life for herself. Or stay, and take care of her mother and younger siblings. The decision she made to stay tells of her character.

I have a feeling that exciting times are in store for the young lady. Thanks for stopping by and reading. I appreciate your analysis and engagement. Thanks for your support. Take care.
