Thoughts Of You (Poem) | 31 December, 2024 @mariannewest's Freewrite Writing Prompt Day 2603 | Prompt: brand new canvas

The above words swirled in my thoughts as I viewed the prompt for the day "brand new canvas". Immediately, an idea swirled not for a short fiction story, but a design.

For those who don't know my other passion, I love creating mixed media art projects. I was actually working on a project when I noticed the prompt included the words "canvas". I wanted to share with you what I spend the remainder of my time on when not writing.

For my theme, I was inspired by and utilized the @daily.prompt's publishing of 31 December 2024, @mariannewest's Freewrite Writing Prompt Day 2603: brand new canvas.

Below are my steps:

The male and female in my poem are in the initial stages of discovering one another. I was fortunate to locate two individuals with black masks on their faces. I didn't want to crowd the scene. The objects that would stand out are the people. Additionally, my pure fractals I create of the green butterfly and the mandala lend further color to the scene.

I then utilized Canva to blend the different type images. I leave with you my procedures in which add layers of elements in accordance with my upgraded Annual Pro Membership that includes tools to remove backgrounds, duplicate, colorize, resize, filter, and reposition items as required.

Perhaps of all the tools, the ability to remove backgrounds thereby creating transparencies of the images is crucial to the blending process.

My scene is abstract in nature. I decided to use abstract images as the background. The flower and butterfly I thought could depict romance.
