Arpa woke up with a start, it was the same dream every night for the past three years, since his wife Marilyn passed away in an auto-crash, the familiar scent of roses, the fragrance his wife loved, hung heavily in the air. He could feel her presence all around him, especially on this night. How he continues to wish that he could set his eyes on her, if only for one last time. He was heartbroken and refused any form of consolation, he had become a shadow of his former self, he had simply refused to move on, so everyone let him be. He sighed heavily as he closed his hurting eyes, his tears could never run dry, it was an Ocean.

There she stood in his dreams, her eyes distant but her face just as he remembered. She was wearing her wedding dress with a bouquet of flowers, just as she had on their wedding day.

"Marilyn, my love", he whispered her name softly.

She smiled as she reached out to him. "I couldn't stay away from you, my love," she murmured, her voice like the breeze of many oceans.

She touched Arpa with her hands, they were too cold for comfort, she was somehow different as he held her in his arms, he felt surrounded by this chill. They danced in the moonlit kitchen, tears running down his eyes.

"Why do you cry, my love?" She asked. "We are together now, forever, nothing can separate us again".

But as the Sun filtered in through the window, in the morning, casting its bright light across the room, Marilyn began to fade away. She screamed, "don't let me go, we promised to be together forever,"

In the silence that followed, he was left with nothing but the scent of roses... and the emptiness of her absence.
