Now...
Not then as in previously nor then as in later.
Huh. I never thought about how then can mean both future and past. It's simply not now. Though it can bring us closer to now if the story starts in the past, and something happens, then something else happens after it... i.e. 200 years ago, it was 1825, then one hundred years later it was 1925...flappers
But now it is Christmas day. Now I hear christmas music. Now my wife sits next to me also typing her freewrite. Then... we'll post them about at the same moment...and it's
Oh, it's hard to get away from things that bug me. But whatever.
Let's focus on now. There's a funny smell. Is it eggs... it's eggs. My mother in law is making a 7 layer salad, which is not something I'd ever heard of, but I guess it involves a layer of hardboiled eggs.
Now there's a fake fire in the fake fireplace. It was a good purchase. Now my child is squealing. Christmas has been overwhelming for him a bit. This morning he and I had a wonderful hug and he started crying. I think he has a lot of emotions that don't always flow out of him, but he got to pause and bury his head in my beard and cry and hug. That'll be my favorite memory from this Christmas.
