One afternoon in a restaurant, Samuel and his wife sat, facing each other and savoring their lunch. They were also discussing a minor issue they had at home.
At a time their attention was caught by their son, Emmanuel who fixed his gaze at four cups in his front.
One cup was filled with a colorful juice, the other a creamy milky strawberry. Out of the other two, one contained water and the other was empty. The young boy seemed deeply intrigued by the cups.
As Samuel first saw Emmanuel from a corner of his eyes, he couldn't help but wondered what was going through his mind.
"What could be his thoughts about the strange pairing of cups? Was he concocting a game or pondering over some mathematical problems?" He wondered.
The wife didn't appear to be interested in what Samuel was doing. She was still waiting and expecting her husband to apologize to her for what she considered was a wrong done to her.
"I can see you're not willing to see what I'm looking at - Emmanuel and the cups," Samuel told her wife.
"Yes." She replied, smiling. "You have to apologize".
"Good. I apologize," He said, smiling. The two laughed, holding their hands, and turning the situation into a joke as they stood up to go home.
It can't be such a big issue if an apology like that is so easily accepted. What a relief.
