What I share with you is a fragment of what was my sermon in church today, which I base on a powerful event that was recorded at the beginning of the Christian church and which is recorded in the book of Acts.

Acts 12:7 And, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and a light shined in the cell: and the angel touched Peter on the side, and awoke him, saying, Arise up quickly. And the chains fell from his hands.
Acts 12:8 And the angel said unto him, Put on thy garments, and put on thy sandals. And he did so. And the angel said to him, "Put on your cloak and follow me.
Acts 12:9 And he went out and followed him, and did not know that what the angel did was true, but thought he saw a vision.
Acts 12:10 And when they had passed the first and the second watch, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and followed along a street, and immediately the angel departed from him.
Acts 12:11 And when Peter came to himself, he said, Now I know of a certainty that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath redeemed me out of the hand of Herod, and from all that the people of the Jews expected.

Peter was witnessing an extraordinary miracle, the Lord had sent him to deliver with an angel in a miraculous way, but although he obeyed the voice of the angel in everything he was told to do, apparently he did not understand what was happening, so much so that he came to think that it was a vision, that it was not real what he was experiencing.

He made the determination to follow the angel, however it was not until he was on the street and the angel left when Peter, according to the bible "came to himself" and realized, understood and believed that what was happening was real.

What happened to Peter often happens to some believers who still do not understand, do not assimilate or do not finish believing that the Lord is real and is omnipotent, is all-powerful to perform miracles, to make supernatural things happen even today.

People live and see God working in our environment every day, many times they witness miracles or unusual situations that when we experience them we understand that they cannot be happening without the intervention of a supernatural being, we understand that it is the work of God the Creator in action.

Peter, until he was on the street away from jail, began to believe that he was experiencing a miracle from heaven. That is why there are people who must begin to believe that God is real, that He has the power to perform supernatural miracles today and can change people's lives.

Let me know what you think!
