RE: Day 1739: 5 Minute Freewrite: Wednesday - Prompt: gridlock

in Freewriters2 years ago

The interview was scheduled for 9 am on Tuesday and I was prepared for everything the night before, I went through my stuff again to be sure before laying on my bed.

I tried sleeping but it won't come, it looked like anxiety got the best of me. It would be my first interview since graduation and I couldn't take my mind off it. I left the bedroom to the sitting room, turned on the TV, and watched some sports stories.

I was up till around 3 am and didn't know when I slept off, I woke up around 7 am but felt tired. I did my morning devotion and relax again as I waited for my meal to cook. I wasn't in a rush since the company is just a 10-minute ride from my house.

I enjoyed my meal and set out for the interview at 8 am, the cab man told me the road is blocked ahead so he wants to take a longer route that is double the time of the usual route. It was okay by me so we left, the first five minutes of the trip were smooth until we entered a gridlock
.
He said it was just a small issue ahead and we will be gone in a few minutes but we were stuck for over 15 minutes, time was running so I came down and ask for a bike man but no one would go because of the gridlock. I wanted to go back but the road behind was blocked as well, trekking wasn't an option. I was thinking of a solution when I heard someone yelling my name so I turned to look back when I noticed I was still in my room.

It was my friend checking to see if I was around, I checked the time and it was exactly 8:35 am.
