Have you ever had a fantastic idea and then witnessed it being implemented by someone else? Even more perplexing is when you never told anyone about the concept, but it was discovered and implemented before you could.
Maybe you had a brilliant idea for a new ebook that would make all your financial goals come true, or you came up with a great home business strategy that would have brought reps flocking to your door and now someone else is getting all the credit.
It's a horrible, terrible sensation to witness someone else profit from your brilliant concept – I've been there! However, don't let this stop you from continuing to work as an entrepreneur. Here are three options for solving the issue:
1.Make a promise to take action.
The saddest part about seeing someone else implement your idea is knowing that you could have done the same if you'd been more proactive. Perhaps you put the concept on the back burner for a time due to a busy schedule, or you were unsure of your own abilities to do a decent job with it – and someone else spotted the potential and swooped in on the opportunity.
Recognizing that you could have done better and promising to do better next time is the first step toward resolving the situation. While it is hard to act on every single thought that comes to mind, you can make a bigger effort to act on the truly great ones. Remember that tiny efforts taken on a regular basis build up to big outcomes.
2.Look at things from a different perspective.
Even if your proposal was implemented, it is unlikely that it was done exactly how you would have done it. Consider the several perspectives you could have on the same concept. Because each issue has so many sides, this works especially effectively with informational items.Open up your mind and think of a unique way to make that same idea more productive and new.
3.Enlarge and improve it.
Consider how you can expand on your original concept. Consider excellent sequels to best-selling ebooks. Consider what changes and enhancements could be made to the idea to improve it and bring it to a new level of success. Consider alternate marketing strategies that could make or break your product's or idea's popularity. Don't put any restrictions on yourself. Push through your doubts and be willing to set bigger goals for yourself.
The truth is that there are an infinite amount of ideas just waiting to be realised. More than a few good ones will undoubtedly fall into your lap if you open your mind. Begin keeping an idea diary to keep track of your brilliant ideas as they occur to you. Participate in frequent brainstorming meetings to see if you can come up with new ideas or improve on existing ones.
Make a thorough plan for the concepts you want to focus on first so you don't get overwhelmed or confused about where to start. Consider the end result you want to attain and work backwards from there. Which actions will be required to get the desired result? Make a list of these steps and arrange them in a logical sequence. You'll have a detailed roadmap that leads to the results you're aiming for.
Finally, and maybe most importantly, get started! You'll feel more productive and make steady progress on the objectives you've set for yourself, even if you only have 15 minutes a day to spare. Simply concentrate on one step at a time, and before you know it, you'll be the one soaking up all the glory while someone else slaps their forehead and exclaims, "Hey, that was MY idea!"
