Day 1615 5 Minute Freewrite entry: Memory Lane

in Freewriters3 years ago

*Hello Free Writer's community! This is my first try attempting @MarianneWest's 5 minute Free Write and I have to admit this was a heck of fun doing...and way more difficult that I expected.
Normally, I start thinking about my wirting...backwards, from the end to the begginig. So once I started typing (I used the "most dangerous writing app" for dramatic purposes) I just went all over the place. So, yes...I kinda edited the result...But I kept everything as it was: no add ons, and same number of words.

With no further ado, I present you..."Memory Lane".

The first kiss, in that little and cozy bar. The night was cold.

She stood there, broken pieces of glass scatered all around the floor.

The necklace he had given her for their birthday.

Now it was lying on the ground next to...

The first time they met.

Night's silence was suddenly broken by the police's sirens. She had been expecting them, since she was the one who called them...but still felt a little startled.

The glimmer in his eyes the moment he asked her out.

Something had broken the very second the saw those text messages. Broken, as the flower vase that she had used. Something was stainted. Stainted like the floor, now flooding with his blood.

*The surprise on her face the previous day, when he had giver her those flowers.

Nothing mattered anymore. All that was left was the pieces of the life that could have been and would never be. She stood on that living room as she tried to shake all those memories away. Now she was forced to live a life she had never planned, neither wanted.

All of those moments, all of those years, wasted. And for what? For a little playtime with one of his students.

A Knock on the door. "Police, open up". It was time for her to go.
