FOOL'S GOLD: Freewrite Dailyprompt

in Freewriters20 days ago

I just have to picture that glittering rock, put it on the dirt, it looks like somebody's treasure from far away and after seeing it you get so excited, maybe you become a little bit greedy, then you have to just pick it up, then you find that suddenly disappointment because it feels like they've fooled you, but honestly I think everyone needs that moment where they need to get it at once.

Because instead of getting tricked to believe things that are not actually true, if everything was really good from the start, then we would not appreciate gold, it would not be so precious to us.

Fool's gold makes you sharper, it turns your eyes, it teaches you to look past what is shining and rarely, sometimes the fake things still look somehow beautiful. Maybe that is their own kind of value. It is what it is.

I have just read your entire blog. I agree with this statement: sometimes the fake things still look somehow beautiful. It's like a plastic flower may never wilt, yet it can brighten a room with its color. Even illusions, although lacking authenticity, can possess a kind of beauty that speaks to us in unexpected ways. Probably it’s not always about what is real, but about how something makes us feel.
