WRITERS DESERVE BETTER PAYMENT FOR THEIR JOBS

in Freewriters2 years ago

Writing is an art, and everybody feels they can write because they can get their ideas on paper. Meanwhile, not everyone is a writer. Writing is a lot more than getting your ideas on paper.

It involves nights and days of reading, watching instructional materials, and sourcing for jobs that suit your skills. Writers should be paid more for their services because they put their emotions out there, they are skilled at it and they do deep research before putting words on paper.

We may have been trained in high school to write articles, letters, and good comprehension passages, but writing is one of the most difficult things anyone can do.

A LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT WRITERS
Anyone who writes and is labeled as a writer has a strong desire to see their work succeed. You can't be a writer if you do not love writing, unlike in other professions. For writers, there are days when you do not feel “like it,” but you still have to push on and get to work or take a break to increase your energy levels.

Writers also get feedback and criticism, and if your skin isn't thick enough, you may not be able to get through as a writer. This is enough reason for them to sway and stop the art, but they keep at it. They deserve better payment for their jobs for this single act.

REASONS WHY WRITERS SHOULD BE PAID MORE FOR THEIR JOBS
Generally, it is safe to say most writers are underpaid because their work is difficult and it takes a lot more than words to get a piece of literature out there. Here are the reasons why writers deserve better pay for their jobs.

  1. Writing involves emotions
Writers put their emotions to work to make the piece they are writing informative and relatable. Without emotions, nobody would relate to what is written on paper.

Putting your emotions into a written piece takes a lot of energy and courage. You give your readers an experience by letting it all out. Writers connect with the readers, assisting them in accepting their problems and finding solutions to them.

2.Writing is a skill
You would spend time and money on getting skilled at anything. A skill is the result of nights and days of creativity. Writing works by creatively understanding how people feel and how they will react. A skilled writer would have you glued to their piece in anticipation of what is going to come up next.

  1. Research
Writing involves a lot of research. You cannot publish an educational or informative piece unless you conduct research and combine one or two pieces. Research is a course on its own, but also a part of the skills of a good writer.

  2. Editing
Editing is a skill needed by writers. Most writers do their editing themselves. They read through the text, fix grammatical errors, and make their writing fluent all by themselves.

Editing is a job entirely, and most writers edit on a different day from when they wrote their pieces. It is done this way because writers see their errors better when they have a clear mind and haven't spent hours researching and writing.

  1. Writers are the backbone of society
Cultural and traditional beliefs are preserved in written pieces. Stories about artifacts, monuments, and vital societal information are passed down from generation to generation through written work. Writers hold society together and are a way of getting information from the days of old.

There are some misconceptions about writers that keep them underpaid, and these misconceptions should be debunked. They are;
• Writers write for fun.
• Charging for writing skills reduces the essence of the skill.
• Writers should be happy when people read their work.
• Everybody can write, so it isn't a big deal.

This and many more keep writers from being paid properly for their work's worth, and it should be scrapped instead of being a limitation.

Your right my dear..
When a friend of mine started freelancing, you know how much of an opportunist Nigeria is, they'll give her a 500 to 1k words to deliver within a short time and pay her peanut..

Then you see her shuffle sleep, cry inbtw, want to give..

Honestly writing is a whole lot
I respect writers who know there worth, you can't mess with them.
Like my friend, she grew and now you don't even come to her if your not ready😊😊.

Kudus to writers in the house,🎉

I like this, they should try and respect us, we put out alot to deliver quality.

Writing requires a very smart brain to deliver quality.

Cheers 🥂

Yes oo my dear 😊🙃

And what is the optimal amount? that's the question. If we compare a saleswoman who works 12 hours selling or a writer who works a few hours from the warmth of his home...

We have to compare with the working conditions.
If authorship is really completely undervalued, why rather not sell rolls?

Hello my dear friend @valggav , I'm glad to receive your question and I have a very perfect answer for you, the answer might not contain this comment section, so I want to take a permission to tag you in the post regarding your question if you don't mind?

You will love my entire point

does not matter .
I'm curious 😅

I'm glad, then let's do this🥂

I just made the post, and you are part of the post beneficiary 🥂

Thanks for motivating the post🤍

Unfortunately, one of the harsh realities of the world is that quality writers are rewarded enough. Especially young people in technological applications earn more money by doing jobs with very low quality.

Very well my friend, exactly my point, I am writing a post and I will be glad to tag you there if you don't mind?

Definitely
Writing requires creative thinking capacity

Writers are really really underpriced and underpaid and it's sad cos they basically do more than one work under “Writing”

It's really sad 😢😢

I'm really glad you noticed this problem too, it is of no doubt that writters are not paid well, but yet they gives the most reliable and incredible informations to the world all for free.

Cheers to we the brave writters 🥂

I fully agree with this. It's not easy to do research to make sure what we write is right as well put the right words to delivering the message right

I swear, writters are always treated like they are nobody, yet they go all the way to give the most reliable informations to the world all for free.

Cheers to we writters 🥂
