RE: Is divorce a poison or a cure in unhealthy marriages.

I guess praying for the spouse to become closer to God and the family to pray together is also not prevalent in your culture? I find that this is the problem why married couples do not last long. When people are far away from God they don't have enough virtues to be good people.

Sort:

Being closer to God doesn’t make you a good person, it doesn’t also mean your marriage will last long. It’s a personal decision to be a good person. And you have to be a good person for your marriage to last long. It has nothing to do with religion. I didn’t say you shouldn’t pray.

Exactly, a good person will choose to follow God's commandments by choice. This is what makes them closer to God, therefore will treat other people better because such a person will do their best to love people as they love the Lord.

I am asking if such is also not prevalent in your country as of course I am an outsider to your culture.

I’m trying to explain to you that my post has nothing to do with religion. What if the good person is an atheist? Whose commandments will he follow asides his? No having a commandment to follow is not an excuse to be bad. These things are just personal decisions.

Clearly there is a language barrier going on. Oh well. From your response then it means what I mentioned is also not happening in your country that is why it is understandable that divorce has been prevalent. Anyway, I appreciate your insight on the subject.
