Summary
“Nearly All Men in Lagos are mad” is a collection of stories that are primarily about the experiences of women in situation-ships (I'm not sure I can call them genuine relationships) that leave them with tales to tell.
Book Reflection
Typically, Lagos men come laden with plenty of garbage. Will you buckle up and enjoy the ride or will you write about it like Damilare did?
This was an enjoyable book for me, it had me laughing out loud while reading. I highly recommend it for travelers and people that enjoy being left alone to enjoy their privacy (e.g. ME). Despite discussing serious topics, it is very lighthearted, witty, and fast paced.
The first story 'cuck-up' will have you hooked up, no cap! This collection of twelve short stories was beautifully written - the humor, unique voices of the characters and use of relatable slangs will have you begging for more as you flip the pages.
Speaking of more, can we get a book about Abuja men cos if nearly all men in Lagos are mad, ALL the men in Abuja are Crazy 😅
My favorite story has to be Ode-pus complex 😂😂 my sister japa (slang for ran off) for her life - ain't nobody trying to die because of a man and his controlling mother. If you're not wise in this Lagos, they'll use your heart as asun (diced goat meat).
My least favorite story, “Independence day” felt jarring and out of place. In my opinion, such graphic, serious, and gut-wrenching subject matter in the same collection of light hearted stories, shouldn't be.
The story "Beard gang" conflicted me the most. As with Independence Day, the story about the beard gang required more nuance and a less lighthearted approach. It was too cheerful for a subject that was so real and heavy.
Overall, I think it is a good book if you’re looking for fun and light. Would definitely recommend it.
Will you give it a read?
Would give it a read but I can't find a copy online and I am not much of a hardcover book fan...if I can get an ebook version I would give it a try. If I can laugh just by reading your review I can imagine the fun I would get reading it

Definitely. I just need to go online and find a copy.
Or do you have a link that I can download with no stress @amyrights 🥺
Edit: Hey, @amyrights , I just went on Goodreads this morning to find this book and saw a review that looked like yours. Then I saw the name. Is that you?
Hey Iskafan! Thank you for your comments. I've tried to get a link to the e-book but it wasn't cooperating. Just send a mail to me (amynifemi@gmail.com), I'll share a copy with you. As regards the comment on Goodread, that's absolutely not me. Lmao you're going to have to tell me all about Abuja girls, I'm interested!
