Hey Splinterlands fans and everyone else!
I want to share my post and entry for the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge .
This week I've chosen a character from Rebellion, she's a pirate mermaid, quite a fun character with that combination.
I've done this drawing in Ps, it's been several days maybe weeks since I last used Corel, and it's not because I don't want to, to be honest, I would like to, but with the electricity issues, it's chaotic to lose the work, so for now, it's best to use Ps.
I haven't got much info on this character yet, I'll check out the file a friend sent me later so I can dig into this and the other characters, 'cause the main page still can't show the lore 😳😥.
I was gonna make a video of this character, but to not overload my PC with more videos, I should actually delete a few files I've already edited to free up space. In the end, I regretted not having recorded it, but oh well.
Here are some pics of the process
To start, I've created a structure for the body shape, clothes, and other elements. For the background, I used one from a previous drawing and made some modifications to use it as a base and make it fit what I was looking for.
Next, I added some shape and detail to the face to get a better idea of things, as well as working on the breasts. It made more sense what I was doing, although there was still a lot to do.
I used some symmetry for this drawing at times, but I also didn't want it to be exactly the same on both sides, so I tried to add some different details and movement to try to eliminate that rigidity. That's why I made the girl's necklace like that.
If you compare this image with the previous one, you'll understand what I mean. Those small changes make a difference, although I could have done even more. One of the main things I wanted to do and detail was the clothing, then I started working on some things on the face.
In this part, I detailed things a bit more, as well as fixing some that I had already done but seemed wrong to me. Beyond that, I hadn't done more in this step.
Final step. I should have saved another step between the previous one and this final one, but well, sometimes I forget and since I work on only one layer there are no copies. I finished the hair, some things that were missing, made some color adjustments, and some other things.
Thank you very much for taking the time to view my work.
Eyyy eyy, i saw that. You hid the cleavage under extra layers of cloth.
TSK, although she's flat. You hid her thicc waist.
Hahahahahah Waist? Only up to the Titttttts I didn't make the waist 😁😂😂

Wow! I really love how it has a traditional look feeling. I have been practicing this kind of style but failed to achieved it. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but great job! It's really amazing piece✨
You would surely love Corel 🤭🤭🤭 it is great for that type of idea of things, even placing a textured canvas, although yes, in PS we can do something with that style, I couldn't say exactly how to do it, but I try to avoid normal soft or hard brushes, in general I only use a couple and they have texture. There are two artists that I follow somewhere, they have shared some free brushes.
Awesome! Thank you for the tips. May I know those artist too? I want to see their art style for inspiration😁
Yes! Yes! Sure so, I was about to search for the links, but it was chaotic, the third time without electricity! Well, fourth, since it went out while I was typing hahahahaha.
I like several artists, let me tell you some of them that I hope you'll like:
They all have a nice style that I enjoy, each of them has their own charm. Two of them have brushes available:
