Hello again Hive Aliens! I don't usually celebrate this holiday, but this year I wanted to cheer up a bit and just be part of the tide and I wanted to make a little illustration (and it's literally little), which I've titled "Halloween Always Been Inside Us", as a little reference to the fact that, although I don't usually celebrate it, it's something that doesn't go unnoticed in my eyes.

Usualmente no celebro esta festividad, pero este año quise animarme un poco y solo ser parte de la marea y quise hacer una pequeña ilustración (y es literal pequeña), la cual he titulado "Halloween Always Been Inside Us", como una pequeña referencia a que, aunque no suelo celebrarlo, es algo que no pasa desapercibido a mis ojos.
The idea for my illustration was inspired a bit by the series Vikings, which, although it's a bit old now, I'm watching it now. I have taken from it the symbolism of the raven and how in the series it shows different signs to the main characters, as if they were saying: "Odin is watching you"; without clarifying if it is really a favourable or negative sign.
After thinking about the raven, I thought that Halloween also has a symbolic relationship with the Samhain festival, which, as I understand, is a celebration of the beginning of winter, so, following the theme, I added trees already leafed out and the perspective of shadows did the rest. 😝
For my illustration I used the open source software called Krita, as I'm still exploring with PixelArt, which I'll be uploading content as I learn a bit more, I used a canvas of only 256 pixels X 256 pixels.
La idea de mi ilustración fue inspirada un poco por la serie Vikingos, que, aunque es algo antigua ya, ahora es que la estoy viendo. He tomado de ella la simbología del cuervo y como en la serie va mostrándoles distintas señales a los protagonistas, como si dijeran: "Odin te observa"; sin aclarar si es realmente una señal favorable o negativa.Después de pensar en el cuervo, pensé en que el Halloween tambien guarda una relación simbólica con la fiesta del Samhain, que, segun entiendo, es una celebración sobre el inicio del invierno, así que, siguiendo la temática, agregue arboles ya deshojados y la perspectiva de sombras hizo el resto. 😝
Para mi ilustración utilice el software de código abierto llamado Krita, como sigo explorando con el PixelArt, del cual estaré subiendo contenido a medida que aprenda un poco más, utilice un lienzo de unicamente 256 pixeles X 256 pixeles.
For the background I used this brush, I'm not quite sure how it would be used on a much larger canvas, but I absolutely loved the effect it made in this format.
Para el fondo utilicé este pincel, no estoy muy seguro como se utilizaría en un lienzo mucho más grande, pero me encantó totalmente el efecto que hizo en este formato.
To draw the crow I used this brush. So far it's my favourite and it's the one that, when I did my other experimental works a couple of days ago, I used at least once on each of the small paintings.
Para dibujar el cuervo utilicé este pincel. Hasta ahora es mi favorito y es el que, cuando hice mis otras obras experimentales hace un par de días, utilicé al menos una vez en cada uno de los pequeños cuadros.
Finally for the branches of the trees I used these two brushes, one for the thin strokes, like the tips of the branch and the furthest ones and the other one for the closer branches to make the thicker strokes.
