"RFY's NFT Showroom Collection - Most Recent Additions..." by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

Howdy friends, this is your happy art maker guy taking a few moments to share with you (yes YOU, dear reader), some of the pieces of art that I have collected through NFT Showroom in the last few...units of time. (I'm shit with time.)

First, however, I want to talk a little bit about being a poor collector (which isn't impossible, though it requires some creative thinking and sometimes some difficult choices.) I've been flitting my way around the NFT space since 2018, and I've used several different platforms / blockchains to buy and sell NFTs: MakersPlace, Rarible, OpenSea, Cryptovoxels, Wax Wallet, and so on... In the current economic atmosphere, though, I can no longer afford to buy artwork that is associated with the ETHEREUM blockchain. I just can't afford to pay the gas fees.

THANKFULLY, the HIVE chain ain't got no gas fees, and I have a healthy amount of resource credits (since I've been blogging on Hive since it was more STEEMY.)Thus, I CAN afford to buy artwork (and other NFTs) from the HIVE based projects, most commonly, NFT Showroom!

I felt like I should make this COST issue clear---although I also want to make certain that people know that I don't consider the work I buy on HIVE to be second class or lesser than ETH based artwork. If I don't like a piece, I won't buy it. If I DO like a piece (and it won't clean me out of swap.hive that I need to produce my own NFTs), I will try my darnedest to get my (digital) hands on it!

With all of that said, here's the most recent pieces that I have acquired!!! (Another note: Some of the artwork in my collect was created by me. These are usually works that I have made in multiple editions, as opposed to a 1 of 1, and when I do multiple editions, I like to keep one for myself. Maybe I'll give them away someday or sell them. I don't know...)

AAAAAAAND there ya' go! My most recent acquisitions. Some of these were gifted to me, some I purchased, and some were made by me. That's how it's done! Build that collection!!!! (I've collected tons of different STUFF since I was a kid: ViewMaster slides, Pez dispensers, comic books, records, postcards, video games, books, trading cards, VHS tapes, CDs, blah blah blah... And now, I ALSO have a nice, sizable ART collection as well (some physical pieces, lots of mail art and zines, and a shit-ton of NFTs! Woooo!!!)

None of these collections were put together for profit (I usually end up losing everything, eventually, HA!); it's just that I love to collect...
