Inktober is a drawing challenge that involves creating a drawing every day in October based on a series of words or phrases. It encourages people to draw and improve their drawing skills. It was created by Jake Parker and was originally a challenge where participants had to draw with ink and, obviously, using traditional methods, but over the years people have participated using a variety of materials, both traditional and digital. This year, I decided to complete the House of Wizard Inktober challenge, and I will be following each daily theme to the letter.

Inktober es un reto de dibujo, el cual consiste en hacer un dibujo cada día del mes de octubre, mediante una serie de palabras o frases. Incentivando a las personas a dibujar y mejorar en el dibujo. Fue creado por Jake Parker y originalmente es un reto en donde la persona tiene que dibujar con tinta y evidentemente en tradicional, pero a lo largo de los años las personas participan con diversos materiales, ya sea en tradicional o digital. Para este año, me propuse terminar el Inktober de House of Wizard y es el que estaré siendo al pie de la letra cada tema diario.

Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! Today I had to create a character with a “Mesozoic Cockatrice,” which is basically like a mystical rooster or something like that. To be honest, it wasn't difficult to come up with my idea for this drawing, and I can say that it's one of my favorites.

Hola gente bonita! ¡Espero estén súper bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! El día de hoy toco hacer un personaje con un "Mesozoic Cockatrice", que básicamente es como un gallo místico o algo así. La verdad es que no me fue difícil hacer mi idea para este dibujo y puedo decir que es uno de mis favoritos.

So my idea was to create the character in portrait form and make it look as if he were pouring the essence of the Mesozoic Cockatrice from the magic bottle into a magical position he was performing.

Entonces mi idea consistió en crear al personaje en retrato y hacerlo ver como si estuviese echando del frasco mágico, la esencia del Mesozoic Cockatrice a una posición magia que esta realizando.

I started by making a sketch, taking into account the original character reference and other references I found on Pinterest, such as the bottle, some horns, and wings.

Comencé haciendo el boceto, tomando en cuanta la referencia del personaje original y demás referencias que fui buscando en Pinterest, como la botella, algunos cuernos y alas.

After structuring the drawing, I go over the sketch with a moldable eraser to remove excess graphite and then go back to add details.

Luego de haber estructurado el dibujo, le paso por encima del boceto un borrador moldeable para quitar el exceso de grafito y luego irme a detallarlo.

In this step, I detail the drawing with ink and mechanical pencil, since I don't have markers, but you work with what you have. I detail the entire drawing until it's ready, and finally I add the finishing touches, such as highlights and my signature, and that's it, folks.

En este paso lo que hago es detallar el dibujo con tinta y portaminas, ya que no tengo rotuladores, pero se trabaja con lo que se tiene. Voy detallando todo el dibujo, hasta tenerlo listo y por ultimo le agrego los detalles finales, como los brillos y mi firma y eso seria todo amigos.
